There are usually four design teams with approximately 10 students per team, who brainstorm about a chosen mural theme. After generating ideas and images for the mural, students work in small groups on scale drawings that represent the overall design. Often they incorporate drawings made by other students in the classroom. The design is made on vellum tracing paper to facilitate the easy inclusion of other students' drawings.
